Transport yourself into a winter wonderland only two hours outside of Portland, OR.
Built in the 1930's, the Tilly Jane A-Frame sits on the North side of Mount Hood at around 6,000ft. The cabin is very popular during winter months as it is located only 1,000ft below the tree line and offers beautiful snowshoeing, hiking, skiing and snowboarding opportunities, yet is also a popular day-hike destination.
Parking is available at the Tilly Jane Sno-Park on Cloud Cap Rd near the Cooper Spur Ski Area (a pass will be needed to park here). In order to get to the cabin, snowshoes or skis are highly recommended as the trek up is fairly steep. Do not let the low mileage fool you, it will be a tiring ascent! The trail will open up near the top and the peak of Mount Hood will come into view, as well as nearby Mount Adams, Mount St. Helen's, and distant Mount Rainier.
The cabin itself is two stories with a loft being on the second floor. Reservations can be made by several groups at the same time for up to 20 people, giving you the opportunity to make plenty of outdoor friends! Be sure to make your reservations two days in advance in order to receive instructions to access the cabin.
