Easy access to a beautiful waterfall.
Pearsony falls, located in the Oregon State Park known as Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint, is about 15 feet tall and cascades picturesquely in two sections underneath a green canopy and between mossy rocks. The falls flow year round, though water levels vary with the season. A trip to Pearsony Falls can easily be combined with other destinations in the area, such as Mill and Barr Creek Falls, the Rouge River Gorge and Crater Lake.
Turn off Highway 62 on Mill Creek Drive, the parking lot is about 5 miles down the road. Begin looking for the parking lot after you cross over the Rouge River. The parking lot for Pearsony Falls is after the parking lot for Mill Creek Falls--it is the one with the restroom.
From the end of the parking lot, follow an old logging road gently downhill through a canopy of fir and broadleaf trees. You will begin to hear the falls as you approach. The falls can be easily seen from the trail and there are a few places to walk down to the water's edge.
The trail continues past the falls to an overlook of Avenue of the Boulders.
Dogs are allowed on a leash 6ft long or shorter.
