Take a short walk to the base of Latourell Falls, where there is a small pool, so you can get up very close. If you want to stretch your legs, take the 2-mile loop outlined in the GPX below to reach the top of Latourell Falls.
Latourell Falls is a beautiful and unique waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Many people stop to see nearby Multnomah Falls, but this waterfall is a can't miss as well. This amazing waterfall is just a few hundred yards from the road and parking lot. Once you park, there is a viewpoint for the falls that is straight ahead.
The view from there isn't that great compared to what you will find if you take the short trail that starts near the bridge and goes to the base of the falls. The trail is really short, only a few hundred yards. You can do some exploring once you reach the falls and go behind the falls if you wish. Latourell Falls has an unusually small pool that it drops into so you can actually walk right up to the edge of the falls for an epic photo op. Be warned though, you will get soaked.
