About this place

Added by Kimberley Kacho

Cape Kiwanda offers amazing photography opportunities with a great opportunity to get up close if you have a kayak or SUP. There are also plenty of tide pools to explore.

Cape Kiwanda is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route. It offers sea stack rock formations, beautiful beaches, sand stone cliffs, and if you are lucky enough, amazing wildlife. It is the home of the Pacific Dory Fleet.

If you are early enough, you can catch the fisherman coming and going in the mystic fog, that happens so often in the Pacific Northwest. After just a short hike up a steep sand hill, you'll get incredible views of Nestucca Bay to the south, and Cape Lookout to the north.

If you're looking to spend the day at the Cape, you may want to bring a kayak or SUP with you as it's a great chance to get closer and explorer the rock outcropping along the coast. And, if there's a swell running, this can be a really fun place to surf!

Once you're all set, it's not a bad idea to grab a cold one at The Pelican Pub and Brewery.
