About this place

Added by Jeffrey Helbling

15 minute hike down to the tide pool. Traverse tide pools to Thors Well and watch amazing bursts of spray as waves crash up and out of this natural wonder. Continue up the Highway 101 to Newport and snag a beer at the famous Rogue Brewing. Duration: A few hours.

First check out the tide books and find out when low tide is. At low tide, head to Cape Perpetua State park about 2 miles South of Yachats.

Park at the Captain Cook Trail Head and head down the trail South to the tide pools. Look for a hole or well in the rock with plumes of spray shooting up with each crashing wave.

The sun setting behind plumes of ocean spray shooting from the well makes for some amazing photographic opportunities! Observe the beauty and beware of tidal hazards such as sneaker waves, incoming tide, logs and sharp rocks.

Gorgeous Spot To Get Close And Personal With The Surf
A must see, just be careful. There's a lot of beautiful thinks to see in the area besides the well.

Very scenic area. Definitely a great hot day adventure because the wave mist is refreshing. Take some photos too!
