Relax at Siletz Bay

The Siletz Bay region of Lincoln City offers a wide variety of activities. With miles of public beach, there is a lot to see and explore. 

Despite being the "quiet" part of town, getting here and finding parking will be your biggest issue this whole trip. Parking although free, is very limited, so you will more than likely need to find a side street if it is a busy day.

Once out of your car, head to the beach! But don't forget to check out some of the fun art and business designs along the way. Once in the main parking lot, you will see that there is a pier which you can walk on. During low tide, you are able to walk under the pier to the opposite side. 

Once you head toward the ocean you will notice a large amount of washed up logs on your right. These make great spots for enjoying a sunset, or if you want, go ahead and continue building the wooden forts which are already on the beach. You will notice several as you walk toward the ocean. 

Going fishing along the mouth of the Siletz Bay is also a great spot to catch crab and several other aquatic animals, just make sure you have the correct permits. 

While on the beach you will see many seagulls, and seals are in abundance come summer time. You will also rarely see whales as they migrate back and forth through the area. 

If you are lucky, you may find glass globes along the beach. These are free for you to take if you find them laying on the beach. This add's to the uniqueness of this region. 

You are not allowed to camp on the beach. However, fires are allowed, if possible, please bring a raised fire pit so the hot ashes are not left overnight for someone to walk over the next day.
