About this place

Added by Maya Rao

A great all-around hike that has many trails leading in all directions. Perfect to do solo or with a group in any season. Close to Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, etc.

Directions to get here are pretty straight forward via the map. You park your car in a residential neighborhood along the street, and from there, you can't miss the entrance. The trail is paved for the first 100yds or so and after you make a right turn at the top, you'll be on dirt and sand the rest of the way.

During the Spring/ Summer/ Fall Southern California months, the weather can be hot and there is no shade on the trail, so bring plenty of water. There are no bathrooms at the start of the hike, but at the top, near the park, you'll find some. Also, there are legends scattered throughout the hike, so you'll never feel lost. Just continue straight ahead on the West Ridge Trail, the same one you started on, all the way to the top. You'll pass a water tower on your right and some random boulders/ caves on your left. Again, just keep heading to the top. Be wary of mountain bikers, since you are sharing this trail and not everyone is courteous enough to let you know where they are.

Once at the top you'll 360-degree views from the ocean to the Mission Viejo hills to Riverside and Newport Beach. If you bring a little snack and some beverages, the top is a great place to take a little siesta and get ready to go back down the same way you came.

Easy, with some inclines
Straightforward hike with some moderate inclines for beginners. Awesome view of the beach once you reach the peak. Definitely worth checking out as it ...
