Sweeping panoramic view of Long Beach, Palos Verdes, and Downtown Los Angeles in the distance. Great vantage point to see the sunset. After the sun sets, take in the endless sea of city lights. Best views on clear days if you want to see all the way to downtown Los Angeles.
Hilltop Park is located in Signal Hill and offers an unmatched panoramic view of the Los Angeles Basin. If you go on a clear day, you may even be lucky enough to see Catalina Island and the Santa Monica and San Gabriel Mountains. This park is the perfect spot for families, dogs, and even dates. There’s always plenty of parking, but be sure to come before sunset as it is a popular spot amongst Long Beach residents.
Hilltop Park offers by far the easiest access if you’re looking to get a great view of the city and want to avoid the traffic of Greater Los Angeles. Hilltop Park can definitely get a little chilly in the evening so be sure to bring a jacket or blanket to keep warm. There are plenty of concrete benches for you to relax and take in the view and there are telescopes if you’re itching to get a close-up view. Hilltop Park is definitely a must visit spot and deserves to be in the same ranks as more popular LA sunset spots like Griffith Observatory or Hollywood Bowl Overlook.
