Alabaster Caverns offers a unique wild-caving experience for Oklahoma. Get away from the tours at the main cavern and go out on your own. There are several fun and big wild caves you can explore at the state park! Ice stalactite cave is over 1 mile of crawling and exploring. If you're looking for a different kind of adventure in Oklahoma, then this is it.
Drive to Alabaster Caverns State Park. Wild Caving is open From April 1-September 30th. You must have at least 3 people in your party. You must all have helmets and at least 2 light sources per person. Go to the visitor center to get permits and the map. Refer to the map for all route-finding! Owl cave has a big main chamber and goes back a ways into a tunnel before dead-ending. Ice Stalactite was one mile in length and had some awesome tight crawling. The other two caves had water in them from a recent storm, and we were unable to make passage. Ropes are not necessary. Surfaces were slick and we did get dirty.
