If you are the type of person who likes a little sense of adventure, this trail is the one for you! Thousands of people visit Brandywine Falls every single year and 99% of them take the standard trail to the falls where every other tourist goes. I am all about going off the trail, this is the only way you get the good pictures! By following this trail you will see a few hidden gems that very few know exist!
You first park in the Brandywine Falls picnic area shown there on the map. There are three ways you go can go right off the start. You want to take the trail to the left named the "Stanford Trail." The trail consists of medium to large stones that are white in color. If you see this you are on the right track.
Take this trail about 1/4-1/3 of a mile until you reach Brandywine Creek. Once you get to the creek, this is where it's easy. Go in the creek!! Make sure you have waterproof shoes that are about 8 inches high. I wear my Belleville Military boots thats are GoreTex lined so I do not have an issue. From here, hike up the river!! You will see a lot of awesome things that you cannot see from the trail. You will cross a few miniature waterfall and gorge areas before you reach the falls. Total distance to the falls from the entry to the creek is about 1/2 mile. Once you reach the falls - ENJOY!!
Hiking up the creek is legal here as you will see families and dogs playing in the creek.
