Hike to Wilderness Falls

Wilderness Falls offers a beautiful hike with a simple yet captivating falls. All of the maintained trails in Pantertown Valley are marked by a number system (there is an information hut in the parking lot with information about other local trails, distance of different trails, and emergency contact).

The trail begins from the Salt Rock Gap parking lot on the Pantertown Valley Trail (474). This trail is technically a maintenance road but about .2 miles from the parking lot, it will intersect the Wilderness Falls Trail (490) on the right-hand side. This trail then continues for about .5 miles and will lead you directly to the base of the falls. 

The signage in Panthertown can be scarce, with several small side trails that branch off, however it is obvious where the main trail leads. There are a several other trails nearby that could allow more of a loop to be made and more waterfalls to be seen (check information hut in parking lot for an overview map of entire area). 

NOTES:

Let someone know where you're going! Panthertown is pretty secluded and with recent increased bear activity and limited signage, things could be a little unpredictable (don't let this stop you from going, just let someone know what time you'll be coming out!)

If you have time, make a loop out of all the connecting trails! There is a lot to see in the valley and many of the trail connect! 

Be aware of what you bring in and make sure you pack it back out! Lets leave these places better than we found them!
