Quick walk to incredible views of jagged rock faces projecting out of the ocean. Lighthouse. Large viewing platform. Rich wildlife (especially sea birds), New Zealand fur seals also breed here. In the summer the ocean can be covered by large flocks of sooty shearwater.
This well maintained and large path is suitable for all ages and abilities, and offers amazing views of the cliff faces and ocean at all angles. The return is around 10-20 minutes, but many choose to stay longer to take in the beautiful sights and take photos.
Getting there: Continue on the coastal road from Kaka Point to the top Kaimātaitai carpark. Toilets and a picnic area are available nearby.
