Incredible place to pitch a tent and take a rest for the evening. Views of the mountains on Lake Wanaka.
This is an awesome spot to stop and camp for the evening if you are traveling on the SH6 either west to the coast or east into Wanaka and beyond. From the campsite, you can hike up Boundary Creek Track, during the day.
There are 40 non-powered tent sites (nondescript, large grassy areas to pitch tents) on this campground. The facilities offer shelter for cooking, flush toilets year round, running water from the tap, and picnic tables. It is also wheelchair accessible. The site can be reached by car, motorhome, and caravan.
Camping fees are $6 adult/night, $3 children/night, and free for infants - there is a self check in at campsite.
Getting there: The campsite is signposted off of the SH6, just past Lake Hawea going west or before Lake Hawea going east.
