This hike has it all! A beautiful view of Lake George and beyond from the summit and two serene ponds.
Parking is available at the end of Dacy Clearing Rd. There are great primitive campsites throughout the area. In winter and mud season you will have to park at the start of Dacy Clearing Rd which adds 1.6 miles each way.
From the parking clearing, turn right passing through a gate. Soon you reach an intersection with a large rock. Head right to make a counter-clockwise loop. You climb a series of switchbacks and finally reach a fork near the summit.
After enjoying the views, return to the fork and bear left to complete the loop. You will descend another series of switchbacks before reach Bumps pond.
As you reach Bumps pond look for a side trail that will lead you to Fishbrook Pond. This will be an out and back of 0.9 one-way but worth it. Once back to this point continue following the trail around the pond. The trail descends again, passing several lookouts before you complete the loop.
Here you are back at the large rock where you started the loop. Retrace your steps from here back to the parking,
