OK Slip Falls

Starting at the parking area you will walk 0.2 miles west on Route 28 to the north side of the road to locate the marked trailhead.

After signing the trail register you will follow the the red marked trail approximately 0.5 miles to the first junction.  At the junction you will branch right and follow the blue marked trail the remainder of your hike.  This first section of trail can be muddy however is an easy walk.

Continuing on the forest along the trail are mostly deciduous and mixed deciduous-coniferous, with many large trees.  The area has many vast wetlands so be on the lookout for Moose tracks or droppings.  Many moose sightings have been seen in this region.  At about 2.0 miles you will reach a dirt road, turn left here and walk a few hundred feet.  You will see a trail sign directing you right, back into the woods.

The last mile appears to be on an old dirt road reclaimed by the forest.  As you near the falls, you will hear them first.  The last junction will direct you right for a quick walk to the the first and best lookout.  Here you can see the full length of the falls.  Just a short walk further will take you too an additional lookout.  The official marked trail ends here.

* If you choose to continue you will see a herdpath that leads you to the bottom of the falls.  I suggest you do not attempt this with small children or pets.  It is very steep and slippery in spots with mud.  Use extreme caution be experienced and have the proper footwear on!
