Scenic canyon views right from the heart of town.
We stumbled upon this little gem as we were driving through town. This park is nestled right at the base of Mallette Canyon and has several features that becken a winter visit.
Along the west side of the canyon, over the small green bridge in the park you will find yourself following along a quarter mile nature trail. The trail takes you past a closed for the season cave, thats still worth taking a peak at, and follows along Mallette creek, weaving you in and out of tall fir trees. As the snow falls from the branches it’ll feel as though somebody has sprinkled fairy dust in your presence - it’ glistens in the sunlight. As you hike the short trail, look up to your left and you’ll see impeccable rock outcroppings and mountain views!
If you’re feeling like you’re up for a winter disc golf session the baskets are kept up year round, and the park provides a 9 hole course!
There also is a decent sized hill on the east side of the canyon that would prove itself for a braze sled session!
The road that brings you into the park continues on further and is groomed for snowmobiles, snowshoeing and cross country ski access by the town. For more information about the canyon itself see here.
