Summit Point 8300

Point 8300, also nicknamed Mayan Temple by the locals, is the highest point in the Rincon Ridge. In order to reach the summit you start by following the South Piedra Lisa Trail for about 2.25 miles to the ridge. Once you reach the ridge the Piedra Lisa goes off to the right, but there is an unmarked trail that goes to the left. You can follow that unmarked trail for about a mile along the ridge. Along the way there will be some minor route finding and a class 2 scramble up the northeast side of the point once you reach it. If you don't want to make the trek all the way to the furthest point, there are some shorter rock outcroppings that offer similar views. 

The third picture shows your destination, you'll see the two smaller rock outcroppings with a third pyramid shaped spire behind them, that's the "Mayan Temple". This adventure is marked as intermediate because you should be confident in your route finding and scramble skills.
