Mount Moosilauke Glencliff Loop shows off wildflowers and breathtaking scenery, making for a memorable hike through the Benton State Forest.
To get to the trailhead, take the 25N, turn right onto High Street and continue along this road until it comes to an end. The Mt Moosiulauke Glencliff Trail takes you through seven miles of forest and mountain scenery. The trail features impressive vistas and eye-catching wildflowers, which might even help you take your mind off the elevation gain. This particular trail is lightly trafficked, making it ideal for the hiker seeking some degree of solitude in the wilderness.
There are a few beautiful river crossings with bridges (one of which is right at the beginning of the trail and great for cooling off in the summer). There are also several very steep sections on loose rock. Views are definitely worth it though!
Note: Trail open May-October.
