Holland Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes to enjoy in western Montana. The water is extremely clear and the surrounding Swan and Mission mountains make the view unforgettable!
When you turn on Holland Lake Lodge road, follow the signs towards the lodge. You will notice a sign that directs to a day use area, which is an option, but I prefer to continue to the very end of the dead end road. There is parking and a vault toilet at the dead end along with a trailhead sign.
Grab your gear and set off down the trail. It is about a 3-minute walk down to the water. You will notice many signs directing to other enjoyable hikes as well.
Once you get to the lake, you have the choice of setting up right on the water's edge, or you can head left or right on the trail to find your own personal little slice of beach. Make sure to pack in and pack out and enjoy the crystal blue water!
Note: the mosquitoes are really intense at this lake...don't forget your bug spray!
