A scenic wall located outside of Norris, MT with multi-pitch trad, single pitch sport, and trad routes.
Winter Wall provides a scenic view while tackling some fun climbs! Climbs range from 5.8 - 5.11+ including trad and sport routes. The wall soaks up the sun giving you a warm spot year round. Overlooking the Madison river you can camp close by, float the river, and get on the wall all in the same day!
Follow Highway 84 over the Neat Rock bridge turn out. Continue on 84 for roughly a mile and the crag will be on the north side of the highway. There are two pullouts close to the wall, use the one you feel is safest, or park .5 miles away at the boat launch and walk up.
The approach is short but full of brambles and loose rock so take your time. Routes can be tough to see but they are plentiful. Scout your routes and know you may want to pass up a few due to loose footing and falling rock. If you're in the area, it's a fun wall to get on!
