About this place

Added by Outbound

One of Glacier NPs original visitor areas, Two Medicine Lake offers incredible photography, camping, boating, and hiking in a less traveled area of the park.

Two Medicine Lake sits in the southeastern part of Glacier NP away from the more popular Going-to-the-Sun Road. The 2-mile long lake has a 100 site campground that serves visitors on a first-come-first-serve basis; the campground opens mid-April and closes in November. From the main parking area, 12 different hikes can be accessed as well as a ramp for launching watercraft. (NPS.gov Map)

The tall peaks to the west of the lake make Two Medicine an incredible spot for sunrise photography and the shore offers numerous options for foreground elements. The lake and surrounding areas are frequented by wildlife, including grizzly bears, so travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray.

Looking for a longer day hike or overnight? Check out Hike to Upper Two Medicine Lake.

Awesome Lake
Two Medicine captures the true beauty of GNP. Drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road while you're there.
