Running Eagle Falls

Running Eagle Falls is located just 1.1 miles west from the Two Medicine entrance in Glacier National Park.

The trailhead parking lot is just off the main road going to the lake– it is essentially impossible to miss. It mimics parking spots on the side of a city street.

This hike is handicap accessible, so the entire family can easily take in the sights. The waterfall(s) are a mere 0.3 miles in and the same way back.

The path is wide and very obvious to follow and you don't have to wade through the creek, as there is a wooden bridge that makes crossing a breeze.

Running Eagle Falls is nicknamed Trick Falls. That is because during spring runoff there is a waterfall that cascades over the top of the cliff and hides the waterfall flowing out of the cave. If you go any other time than spring, chances are the waterfall out of the cave will be the only thing flowing, which is not disappointing at all.

If you are agile enough, you can climb around the rocks next to the falls to get a better look and great angles for photos.

This "hike" is perfect for anyone. It's such an easy and quick walk that there is no excuse to skip over it when in the area. All you need is your eyes and/or a camera and you'll be ready to indulge in Running Eagle Falls.
