This is a really neat place to go, where else could you go to see a mill that is closing in on being 200 years old (it was built in 1850) that is still active?
This park is really neat, its not very big but for the area there is lots to do. You can check out the mill that does still work. The owner of the mill is very friendly and he said that they still grind some of his crops, and that they hold events to watch the process of how they do it. For photography, there is a dam that stops up the river and diverts some of the water into the mill. This waterfall is a great place to take photos. I have found that taking photos here with a slow shutter speed turns out really cool. It gives the water a milky look and makes the waterfall look really defined.
The pond that is stopped up is also really good for photography because it is super calm water and is great for getting pictures of reflections off the water.
However when I went around sunset the sun was setting behind a hill on the western side of the park so this wont be a good place to get good pictures of the sunset or to even view the sunset. But it looked like there would be much better photography opportunities for sunrise because there would be a few places to watch the sunrise. A good place would be from the observation deck that is on the west side of the pond and is connected on the dam. You would be able to capture the reflection off the water which would make for a great photograph.
