The Choctaw Lake Recreation Area provides both tent and RV camping, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, paddling, boating, and fishing.
The Choctaw Lake Recreation Area is great, as it provides opportunities for so many different recreational activities. Its two lakes can host various water activities (i.e. swimming, paddling, fishing, etc.). Cabin Lake is the smaller of the two lakes and is also the calmest. Then there is the 100-acre Choctaw Lake, which feeds into the Noxubee River and offers boating, swimming, and fishing. Anglers can look forward to a catch of largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and crappie.
The campground offers nearly two dozen campsites with accessible toilets, showers, and drinking water. Make your campsite reservations here: https://www.recreation.gov/cam...
The 40-mile-long Noxubee Hills Bike Trail is rated moderate-to-experienced for biking and hiking, but there are shorter, easier trails to hike. I hiked the 2.7-mile-long Lake Side Trail, which circles Choctaw Lake. For a trail map, visit the following link: https://www.fs.usda.gov/Intern....
Please take all trash out with you, be sure to take plenty of pictures, and have a great day out in nature!
