Enjoy a new perspective as you walk a third of a mile out on the water and look back at the seemingly distant shoreline.
You'll walk on the concrete pier just barely out of reach of the waves (for the most part), allowing for some pretty cool wave and shoreline photos. An occasional wave may wash over low areas of the pier, so always be alert! Also, be careful of the slippery algae, especially close to the edges. There are ladders if you accidentally fall in the water, but the waves can be pretty rough here so it is best to simply avoid needing to use them.
The beach is pretty large and has sand volleyball courts, so bring a ball and don't be afraid to meet new people and ask to join groups! There is an historical carousel at the beach as well, and it still runs and is available to be rented out for parties.
Take the stairs up the hill and you can grab some of the best ice cream in the area! Enjoy it as you watch the stunning west Michigan sunset out on the lake!
