Santa Catarina is a climbing zone in the city of Río Blanco. It has more than 20 routes for sport climbing and free climbing for all levels, from 5.8 to 5.13. It's a very nice place to go climbing because the limestone walls are just perfect and it's in the center of the city.
To get from México city you must take the highway to Veracruz and drive 165 miles, you should take the diversion to Río Blanco, you will get easily to the main street. Once you get there, you must find the street norte 20 a few blocks ahead and take it to the end, when the dirt road shows up (it will very soon), that means you are already in the climbing zone. You can park your car next to the wall and you can climb without paying anything.
It's important that you check your equipment before using it; and remember do not litter, respect the place and enjoy your climb.
