Moxie Falls is a less than 2-mile hike that provides views of one of the largest waterfalls in New England. It also makes for a great swimming hole.
The trail begins at the Moxie Falls trailhead. Continue along the trail until you cross an access road. Cross the access road and keep going. The trail is unmarked, but wide and distinct enough to make it easy. You will hear the falls before you see them. Your walk will take you to the top of the falls where you can walk along the rocks by the stream. Get back on the trail and continue to the lookout station. You can get to the bottom of the falls by hiking further down the trail then carefully climbing down the side of a steep incline. A scramble over some rocks will bring you back around the corner to the lower section of the falls. Remember to be careful, as the rocks by the falls can be wet and slippery. Retracing your steps will bring you back to the parking area and the trailhead. Apparently there are several good swimming holes below the falls but we didn't get in the water.
