Heaven on Earth at Panorama Ridge

Heaven is often described as a high place. A place of divine beauty and happiness, well I found heaven in a lush wilderness park in British Columbia. Garibaldi Provincial Park is loaded with unreal camping spots, glorious lakes, and powerful peaks.

Although the whole park is impressive, there is one spot in particular which I find to be paradise. Panorama Ridge rewards you with 360 degree views of the area, and is easily one of the most stunning hikes in the Vancouver/ Whistler area. However, this hike is no stroll in the park and you must put in over 30km of work to enjoy these views.

My first backpacking trip ever was to Garibaldi Lake. The trip was full of gorgeous reflections, hours of hiking and blisters the size of golf balls. We decided to hike up the ridge early morning before heading home. Sweaty, exhausted and excited, I remember the feeling of adrenaline pumping through my veins as I finally reached the plateau. The view was like nothing I had ever seen before, I was astonished by the vast amount of beauty right in front of me. Since that trip I have been back on multiple occasions. Ive hiked Panorama Ridge in day trips, camping trips and even enjoyed golden hour in this enchanting location. To this day this is still my favourite hike and I recommend it to anyone in good physical shape with a desire to experience it for themselves.
