Photograph the Tree of Life In Audubon Park

The Tree of Life as the Locals call it, is an iconic staple of the Uptown New Orleans area. Families have been climbing, swinging and getting married under this beautiful tree's canopy for years. The tree is estimated to be nearly 500 years old and the tree limbs even touch the ground as Spanish moss drapes from the overhanging branches. One little know fact about the tree is that is right next to the giraffe exhibit at the Audubon Zoo of New Orleans. So if you climb slightly up the tree you can get a sneak peek at the giraffes. The kids will love this tree as they climb and swing from the rope for hours. The park surrounding the tree is perfect for running, biking or picnicking with the family. The park offers an abundance of beautiful large oak trees and running trails. Located in the heart of New Orleans, great food and entertainment are all within walking distance.

To find the Tree of Life you need to make your way to the most southeastern section of Audubon Park. If you park near the corner of Tchoupitoulas St. and East Dr, you will see the large tree in the middle of a grassy field to your left. The fence to the Zoo runs just to the South and west of the tree. Enjoy a day with a picnic, taking photos or climbing this beautiful tree.
