About this place

Added by Blair Williams

There is a ton of fantastic climbing here for all skill levels.  Routes range from multi-pitch 5.7 slab to a cave with a gigantic roof where the climbs start at 5.12D.

The hike to the crag is about 1.3 miles one way and takes roughly 45 minutes. The approach starts at the Backbone / Mishe Mokwa trail head off Yerba Buena Rd.  After walking a couple minutes you'll see a sign pointing left for the backbone trail or straight for Mishe Mokwa. Continue straight and after about 30 minutes you'll see a path leading down and too the right which is actually a wash. Follow this trail down and it will take you to the climbing area where you will find upwards of 180 bolted routes.

The climbing offers stunning views of the canyon and because of the shape of the cliff side you can chase the shade all day in the summer or stay in the sun all day in the winter.  Just remember you are hiking down into the canyon to climb which means you have to hike up in order to get out so make sure you save a little energy and some extra water for the trip back to the car.
