Point San Luis Lighthouse via Pecho Coast Trail

This guided roundtrip hike to Point San Luis Lighthouse has one of the best views of the central coast coastline. You will get a chance to see the Avila Beach, Avila Pier, Call Poly Pier, and Harford Pier from a high point. 

The trail crosses through a land owned by PG&E; therefore, the hike is led by docents and it is open to hikers only on Wednesday and Saturdays. There is a limit on the space, so reservations are recommended. 

The trailhead for the hike is located at the Fisherman's Memorial located between the Port San Luis Harbor Parking Lot and Diablo Canyon Power Plant’s entrance gates. There is a plenty of free parking at the ort San Luis Harbor Parking Lot. You can view the Driving Directions here. 

The check-in at the trailhead starts at 8:45 AM  and the return time will be around 1 PM for both days. If you like you can take a guided tour of the lighthouse at the end of the trail for $10.00 donation. When you reach the lighthouse, if you don't opt-in for the guided tour, you can visit the premises on your own, have a picnic, or take an advantage of the swing overlooking the ocean. There is also a small store on the premises if you like to buy snacks instead of packing your lunch with you.
