About this place

Added by Isaac Orloff

Big Tujunga Canyon Lookouts make for a quick but very steep hiking providing fantastic panoramic views.

Park at the Condor Peak Trailhead, please note that this trail head is unmarked so keep your eyes peeled on the right side of the turnout for a small single track trail. The trail gradually climbs along the side of the canyon until reaching a 4 way intersection. To your left and to your right will be the two lookout points. The trail to your left is shorter, and has crudely built stairs which help with the steep incline. At the top if a flat spot perfect for a picnic or perhaps a campsite if you're feeling adventurous.

Opposite of the first look out stands a significantly higher lookout point. This climb is slightly longer with very steep pitches. This may not be suitable for children or those with unsure footing. There are nylon ropes installed to assist with the climbing if needed. This look out provides fantastic panoramic views and multiple benches to take in your surroundings. Pack a lunch, bring some games, it's a great place to hang out! Be sure to have a wilderness pass for parking at the trail head, otherwise risk getting a ticket. They can be purchased at several locations. Overall this is a very short hike, but you get a lot of bang for your buck!
