Saddle Rock Loop will get your heart pumping for a very good cause...the view of the coastline and ocean from Saddle Rock is spellbinding and the Saddle Rock formation makes for a great photo-op.
Begin at the trailhead in the parking area on E. Valley Road. You'll gain some elevation (don't forget your water). You'll know when you arrive at Saddle Rock--you can't miss this conspicuous rock formation. Enjoy the sights from here. If you plan carefully and hike up on a clear day, you may even glimpse the Channel Islands way out on the horizon.

Good workout close to town
Saddle Rock is a good hike/run and a close option if you're staying in Santa Barbara. The uphill portions aren't tough, but good enough ...
