Spectacular scenic views and a nostalgic experience for all movie fans of "Stand by Me." In the film, the Lake Britton Bridge was used to capture the memorable scene in where the four adolescent teens, best friends, escape death from an oncoming train, forming lifelong friendships.
The "Stand by Me" bridge is located in Northern California about 20 miles north of Lassen National Forest and two and a half miles (2.4 mi) from Burney Falls at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park.
The bridge is approximately 7.5 miles north of Burney, CA. From the town of Burney, take Hwy 299 to Hwy 89, then 7.5 miles north on Hwy 89 to Lake Britton, then after going over a bridge, over the river, you will pass under a small train bridge, on the right-hand side you will see a gravel road. Turn right onto that gravel road (Eagle Mountain Lane) to the bridge, that will be on your right. The gravel road is also an entrance to the Dusty Campground Site.
The bridge is now barricaded and you won't be able to walk on or across the bridge but you can still take great pictures and enjoy the beautiful scenic views.
