Jenkinson Lake Loop Trail at Sly Park is a 8.2-mile hike around the lake. Enjoy beautiful scenery and a waterfall along the well-maintained trails.
The Jenkinson Lake Loop Trail runs along Jenkinson Lake, making for an easy, shaded, and well-marked hike that the entire family can enjoy. The full loop is over eight miles, but can be easily modified into a shorter trip, as well.
Along the way, you will see a variety of activities along the lake (fishing, kayaking, canoeing, etc.), as well as come across some great areas for swimming, sight-seeing, and relaxing. Around 3 miles in, you will arrive at a calm, serene spot on the lake. To see the Park Creek Waterfall (33 feet), continue to your left for 200 yards, instead of taking Park Creek Bridge.
Driving Directions: Sly Park is located an hour east of Sacramento, along US-50 E, Sly Park Road exit. Regarding parking, you can enter the main gate and pay $11.00 depending on the day, or you can drive further down to a free parking area Mormon Emigrant trail.
