Amazing and quiet campground right up the road from Sardine Lakes! Easy booking, we booked three sites the week of our trip!
Salmon Creek Campground is a quiet campground in the Northern Sierra Buttes. Since it is right up the road from Sardine Lakes it seems to get overlooked a bit. We were able to reserve three campsites the same week of our trip. There were 11 to choose from!
The campground is just passed the turn for Sardine Lakes off of Highway 49. And when I say just passed it, I mean JUST PASSED IT. We missed the turn the first time. The sign for the campground is not lit or reflective.
This campground is great because it's so close to the lakes and seems to be slightly overlooked. You can quickly access Sardine Lakes, Packer Lake, and Tamarack Lakes. It's also not too far from town if you need to run in for supplies, or ice cream and milkshakes.
