A Visual History of Public Lands

Launched this week, Public — Archive is a space dedicated to preserving public agencies use of graphic design throughout the 20th century for reference, education, and inspiration. If you're a design nerd AND public lands lover like me, it's a treasure trove of incredible design from years past. From the East to the West, it's a beautiful visual history of our national parks and public lands, and showcases some of the creativity in design before we started just slapping a photograph on the cover of every pamphlet. 

For now the site has selections from the US Department of the Interior, US Department of Agriculture, Canadian Department of the Environment, Canadian Government Travel Bureau, and the Government of California.
