Mount Sanitas is the ultimate quick hike in Boulder. You'll see locals headed up before work, at lunch, and for a quick sunset jaunt. The trail provides amazing views of Boulder, the continental divide, and the eastern plains. It's definitely a workout, but the views are worth it.
Fun day hike with beautiful views. Well marked trails to make it a bit more family friendly. Green Mountain tends to see a bit less traffic than the more popular (and a bit higher) Bear Peak.
The Royal Arch Trail climbs up Boulder's famous Chautauqua Park to an archway formed by sandstone rocks that tower over thirty feet high. There are great views of the eastern plains and Boulder's famous Flatirons.
Prepare for a steep climb that will most likely leave you breathless. The trail is easy to follow, but it is definitely strenuous. However, once you reach the top, you're rewarded with a 360 view of Boulder, Denver to the east, and Indian Peaks to the west.
Starting in South Boulder, this is a scenic walk that leads through the forest and to the base of the foothills. It's a fun day hike in a beautiful area with wildlife aplenty.
