If you want to pass a few hours into the wild, you have to visit this peaceful and “secret” place near the city of Tarvisio.
While planning a trip to Fusine Lakes, that you can find HERE, add to your journey a walk through this wonderful hidden path.
Following the road that leads to Fusine in Valromana, you will find the indications to Boscoverde, a small hamlet close to Tarvisio. Here you can easily park your car at the old abandoned railway station and carry on by walk a little dirty road that leads very quickly to the Napoleonic war memorial monument on the top of the hill.
From this point you can take 2 different paths to descend to the river Slizza. The first on the left that will take you into the wonderful forest that surrounds the entire area or the one on the right, a steep stairway (but don’t worry, it’s equipped with fences and comfortable steps) that will take you in about 5 minutes to the Slizza. I suggest taking this one at the beginning because it’s a little harder and I prefer the forest walkthrough for the return!
Finally arriving at the river, you can admire the beauty of nature at its best. Streams of water that depending on the lighting conditions can assume different colors, natural caves, handmade tunnels (built for the first time in 1874!) and the beautiful 18 meter waterfall of Rio Molino that jumps into the Slizza.
You will take about 1h (with a very slow pace) in order to admire all the beauties of this place, including the final walk through the spruce and beech forest. An easy but a must-do adventure for nature lovers and families!
