Trail Run at Lincoln Memorial Park

The Lincoln Memorial Park is the site of a 1859 debate between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas. This marks a stop on the Lincoln Historic Trail and was an important milestone in the growth of Abraham Lincoln. The site has several interpretive markers and memorials where the men once stood and spoke to onlookers.

Today their are several picnic shelters, a playground next to creeks and ponds with 3 loop trails that are all crushed gravel and are about .50-.75 miles each. Mostly flat with full service restrooms nearby, they are most often used by trail runners and dog walkers. 

The Shawnee National Forest Mississippi Bluffs Ranger Station is on site and more information can be gathered on the west side activities within the western portion of the forest.
