About this place

Added by Sara Sheehy

Known for it's world class fly fishing, Silver Creek is a place of solitude and beauty in all seasons. Hike along the crystal clear spring creek while observing trout, waterfowl, song birds, rabbits, raptors, fox, coyote, moose and elk.

From the intersection of Highways 75 and 20 drive east on Highway 20 for 7.3 miles. Turn right onto Kilpatrick Bridge Road and drive another 1.5 miles to the Silver Creek Preserve Visitor Center.

Stop at the Visitor's Center to take in the desert landscape and snap a few pictures. Exit on the far side of the porch onto the trail. The trail crosses over a series of boardwalks then hugs the edge of the water. Continue to follow the trail across an open field before it re-connects with the creek and terminates on Kilpatrick Bridge Road. Glance over the bridge rail to spot large trout hanging out in the shadows. Walk back along the dirt road to your car.

Swing by the Picabo Angler to grab a tamale for the drive home!
