About this place

Added by Nathan Oakley

Iceland's Blue Lagoon has been called one of the 25 Wonders of the World. This is a must-do in Iceland.

The Blue Lagoon in Iceland is one of the country's most famous attractions. The pristine blue waters are a result of volcanic activity. The water is naturally heated and soothes the skin. The drive from Reykjavik to the Blue Lagoon takes about an hour. Upon arrival, you will find a large parking lot with easy parking. The entrance fee is around 5400 Iceland kronas, but is free for children under 12. Pre-booking is required, so make sure you contact ahead to reserve a spot. Make sure to shower before entering the Blue Lagoon. You will find a variety of swim up concession stands available on the premises, offering drinks and lotions for your face. Usually the Blue Lagoon isn't too crowded, but there are people from all over the world there. I can recall meeting people from 8 different countries there.

Overall, the Lagoon is great for families and large groups, or even if you and a friend are just looking for a place to chill. Definitely check it out if you're in Iceland.
