Less than half a mile from one of Iceland's most visited waterfalls is another incredible waterfall shielded from sight.
Starting in the parking area for Seljalandsfoss, follow the path that leads along the ridge line away from the main road. In less than twenty minutes, you'll reach a small marker and picnic area.
Ahead of you should be a slit in the ridge wall--no more than 8 feet wide--with a small trickling stream. Don your rain jacket and make sure your camera is protected, then walk along the stream and through the slit in the wall into the mist of a crushing waterfall.
If it's a good day, you'll catch some surreal sunshine casting god rays through the haze. And if it's not, you'll still be standing beside a secluded, 100+ foot tall waterfall powerful enough to be felt.
