About this place

Added by Ben Beyers

A sunset at Anaehoomalu Point is the perfect way to unwind and finish up a beautiful day in paradise

This beach is a great if you're looking for a more secluded beach in Waikoloa Village.  Rarely are there more than ten people there even during sunset when people flock to the beach.

If you aren't staying at the Hilton next door then this spot is a little harder to access. There are two beach access parking lots: one located right off of Waikoloa Beach Rd and the other right across the street. These lots have limited space and often fill up quickly. From the parking lot, a 0.5 mile trail carves through the Anchialine Pond Preservation Area.  This trail among green ponds will take you to directly to Anaehoomalu Point.

Be prepared for rough terrain. Coral and rock completely cover this area except for a couple areas of fine sand.  If you have the right shoes it can be really fun to jump from rock to rock during low tide.

Anaehoomalu Bay is a good spot for surfing and paddling considering the swells are farther out from the lava rock. It is a pretty quiet spot and there are rarely more than three people out on the water.
