Hike & Swim Twin Falls, Maui

The parking area for the trail is right off of Hana Hwy. The lot may be packed which isn't surprising as a lot of people visit, but there aren't as many people once you start exploring the falls. From the lot, you will see a food stand beside the start of the trail which a great place to get some snacks before or after the hike.

The trail is more of a gravel road than a trail, but it is about 10-15 minute walk down the trail to get to the falls. At about a half a mile in the path splits into two paths. If you go left, you will eventually come to the main falls, where there is a swimming hole under the falls. You will have to cross over a masonry weir and wade through the stream to get to the falls. This is wear good shoes will come in handy.

After visiting the first falls, there is much more exploring to do. As you come back down the trail you can follow the path or walk down through the river. Going down the stream may cause you to have to swim at some points, so you may not want to carry anything you don't want to get wet. As you come down you will come to some more falls where there is a great place to jump off into a pool below. All-in-all there is a bunch of exploring for you to do to find the best and coolest areas around. After all of that, it's back to entrance for a snack.
