About this place

Added by Preston Esco

This adventure takes less than an hour of hiking. With it being the second highest peak in Georgia, this is an adventure you need to add to the Georgia bucket list.  At the top there is an observation deck that allows for a 360-degree view of the Georgia and North Carolina mountains.

Starting at the trailhead you begin by following the yellow blazes. The trail isn't well marked so keep an eye out for the blazes you see. The trailhead starts at the dead end of Kelsey Mountain Trail. The path immediately starts to incline and doesn't stop. A few minutes in you will come to a fork in the trail. We chose the right path and that took us straight there.  At 0.8 of a mile in you reach a decent campsite but there are some fire pits at the summit that are perfect for an overnight stay. At the top, you will find an observation deck that allows a 360-view which can be great for a sunrise or a sunset hike! (Or even both!)
