Well-maintained spacious campsites with a gorgeous view!
Morganton Point Campground is one of the most well-maintained campgrounds in North Georgia. There are sites available for both RVs and tents, but the tent section is separate from the RV area so don't worry about any noisy generators!
I camped at Site F, a tent-only campsite. This campsite (and pretty much all of the tent-only sites) has a beautiful view of Lake Blue Ridge. If you've got a kayak/SUP, bring it! It is just a short walk to the lakeshore. It is rather rocky but not difficult to navigate. The tent-only sites are arranged in a U-shape but all are quite spacious and not too close together so you still feel a sense of privacy. It's a short walk to the on-site facilities (hot shower! flushing toilets!) so this would be a great option to introduce someone to camping. The Appalachian Trail and Benton MacKaye Trail are easily accessed near the campground. You can also enjoy walking along the shore of Lake Blue Ridge if you want to stay closer to camp. There is firewood available to purchase at a reasonable price. Campground hosts are friendly. All in all a wonderful place to camp in North Georgia!
