When in Baños de Agua Santa, rafting in Pastaza river is a must do activity that can be done with very little experience, the only requirement is to know how to swim.
Pastaza river is a class III rapids, which means that ain't that hard to navigate and almost everyone in your party can be part of this adventure.
In order to do this activity you must book the services of a tour operator in Baños de Agua Santa, there are many. They will provide with all the gear (helmet, wetsuit and shoes) and transportation. A snack and the photographs (you should have you own pendrive) taken by one of the instructors from a kayak are also included in the services.
Just before going into the river one of the guides will give you all the instructions and indications for a safe navigation. They will also explain you what to do if you fall from the boat and how to get back into it. That ain't that hard, in fact the instructor will encourage you to go for a little swim. Anyway the instructor in the kayak is there if you need any help.
This was the very first time I did rafting and I really enjoyed it even when I fell from the boat. It was a nice experience and I would do it again.
