About this place

Added by Holly Mandarich

A mid level hike with all the reward.

If you find yourself back in the Lime Creek area just outside of Eagle, Colorado and south of Sylvan Lake State Park - you should make the time to get yourself up to Eagle Lake!

The hike starts off of Brush Creek Road and follows a property line in the forest of Aspens and towering wildflowers for about 1.5 miles, after reaching the end of the property line you are spit out back onto a forest service road for about a .25 miles that follows down into a dense pine forest, where you begin to climb the last mile to the top where you will find yourself at the base of a glorious Alpine Lake!

Upon arriving at the lake take any of the side trails around to find your perfect chill spot.

This hike is a known one, but not as popular as others in the area, we went on a Saturday around 1pm and found only 4 groups cross out path.

I will say from Eagle, Colorado it does take about an hour to drive to the trailhead, roughly 24 miles of dirt road.

Get out there, you won't be disappointed, we even jumped in the lake for a refreshing cool down!
