About this place

Added by Jessie Hoyng

This is a lovely hike just outside Denver, so it's perfect for a quick after-work escape from the city!

The hike starts out from the North Table Mountain Park parking lot just east of Highway 93 on the North Table Loop Trail, with a half-mile fire road straight up the mountain. This fire road is by far the most strenuous part of the hike, and is essentially the sole elevation gain for the hike; once reaching the top, the rest of the hike is flat or downhill.

Take a quick breather at the top of the fire road, if needed, and then continue on the Tilting Mesa Trail, which will eventually veer left into the Mesa Top Trail. After about a half mile, the Mesa Top Trail will reconnect with the North Table Loop Trail, which can be followed straight back to the parking lot.

This hike offers fantastic views of Denver to the east and the mountains to the west. It is beautiful at sunset and after dark - just be sure to have your headlamp handy!

Also, note that the parking lot closes one hour after sunset, so don't stay out too late, or you risk getting a ticket.

Golden's Cannonball Creek Brewing Company is just down Highway 93, if you're looking for a post-hike brew or two.
